Allies in the Fight

Organizing with Allied Professionals

Solidarity Statement

The AWU's primary mission is fighting for unions in Applied Behavior Analysis - but our philosophy is we are all in this for our communities, for each other, and for the families we collectively serve.

ABA Workers stand in solidarity with allied practitioners, including SLPs, OTs, PTs, dieticians, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare and mental healthcare providers. Providers who are willing but not directly in the field are welcome to join us and fight for unions and worker's rights at our workplaces.

If you're interested, join our mailing list and connect with us on Signal.

Please use basic safety hygiene on Signal. Use a pseudonym, and be sure to set your privacy settings to hide your personal information. The reason we use Signal is it provides us all with a layer of protection against malicious actors - as long as we use it correctly.

Who can join?

Individuals with firing or hiring powers are considered employers, and are not eligible for membership.

1099 contract workers are not recognized by the NLRB, but are welcome to join as we fight nationwide to change that labor landscape: contract workers are workers, too, and deserve recognition and respect for their service.

We encourage workers outside of ABA to join either in solidarity, or to get connected with organizers at your workplace. Many companies offer multiple forms of therapy, recognizing the benefit that families received from multidisciplinary approaches to mental healthcare.

For Every Worker - Solidarity Forever!
